Whereas women fleeing domestic abuse deserve our utmost sympathy and support, not merely because of the terrible circumstances they are in, but also because of the courage it takes to break free from abuse. 

And whereas pregnant women fleeing domestic abuse are even more in need of additional support; such as funds for neo-natal vitamins, improved food, and trips to the doctor. 

We the undersigned ask the government of Alberta to increase the emergency allowance from up to $1000 a month to $1250 per month for pregnant women fleeing domestic abuse:
